Rutland Sailing Club, where the Sailing School is based, was established in 1976. The Club now has an International reputation because it is based upon one of the finest areas of water for inland sailing. One great feature is that you can see some of the best of Rutland’s beauty from a boat! Rutland Water has conditions that are similar to estuary sailing, but with the added bonus of their being no tides. It has over 3000 acres of sheltered water. There are 3 permanent racing courses laid out on Rutland Water. Moreover, it is possible to set out a full Olympic course. This means that this allows sail training to take place in many conditions.
