Monthly Archives: March 2016
Spring? ! after a mild start to 2016, it been a chilly and windy few months, we have had very poor luck with Saturday social sailing this year, with only 5 sessions since October, as its been far too windy on Saturdays.
Far too windy, well anything over 20mph is a little too much especially if it’s from the west or the north, as it makes it hard to sail with the waves, or hard to launch off the beach. We will run Saturday Social Sailing, if we can but sometimes we just look at the water and think it’s just too much if your ever unsure give us a call 01780 721 999.
Ladies Who Launch on the other hand has had far better luck with the weather, and have been sailing right through the winter, we are even getting new ladies turning up each month still, and there Twice weekly write ups are a entertaining read. They are sailing twice a week and record their exploits on their face book page https://www.facebook.com/Ladies-Who-Launch-220674121324206/?fref=ts if you want to know more about the sessions drop us an email or pop along, you don’t have to sail you can come in the powerboat to see what it’s about.
I am told that later this week it’s meant to warm up to double figures, finally making it possible to go out without hat and gloves. We are currently taking a number of bookings for De-Rust sessions, a great way to refresh your skills, and a reduced rate until the end of April.
Children’s holiday courses are booking up fast, courses available at Easter still a couple of dates available, some weeks in the summer holidays are now booked up. Cygnets sessions start again on the 1st April, a great way to refresh their skills or prepare them for further courses, must have RYA stage 1, and be happy sailing on their own.
